Bike Commute Malaysia & Our Work

Bike Commute Malaysia is a non governmental organization dedicated to promoting low carbon mobility by advocating for safer and equitable street design. Our work prioritizes promoting the safety and rights of vulnerable road users, such as cyclists and pedestrians by reimagining the existing geometry of streets. By adopting global best practices for safer street design and enhancing the appeal of public spaces, we aim to facilitate a transition to more active and sustainable modes of transportation. Through this transition, we strive to address critical issues such as climate change, public health, and fostering a more livable city. We are currently working in association with the Global Designing Cities Initiative to reimagine existing streets, implement & evaluate street transformations in KL. These serves as pilot projects to scale up more urban transformations in the future. We are also working with the Global Road Safety Partnership to advocate for safer school streets at the national level. You may find out more by visiting our website at bikecommute.my.
